Sunday, May 4 – Chalk the “Yellow Brick” Walk

Families are welcome to stop by the front circle of the school on Sunday between 3-4:30pm to help create a Yellow Brick Road entryway filled with sweet pictures and special messages on the sidewalk for our teachers to find when they arrive at school on Monday. Please bring along your own sidewalk chalk! *date is subject to change for weather - lookout for updates in TidBits, Facebook or email. 

Monday, May 5 – Munchkin Land

Wear Teacher’s Favorite Color Today

Let’s turn classrooms into the ever so bright and colorful Munchkin Land by bringing your teacher a flower, plant or something with a floral theme today (be creative!). Plan to wear your teacher’s favorite color, too. Be sure to check your teacher’s Favorite’s List for color preference. 

Tuesday, May 6 – Dancing Through School

Wear Colorful Clothing Today

Our THES teachers and staff love a well-stocked staff lounge - wouldn’t you?! Join us by contributing an item or two to our Dancing Through School Mini Stock-the-Lounge effort and help our teachers "dance" right through the end of the school year. Sign up here and then plan to drop off no later than Sunday, May 4. See sign up link for further details. 

Wednesday, May 7 – Popular! 

Wear PINK Today

Our teachers are so popular even Glinda would be jealous! Let your teachers know just how Popular they are with you by bringing them a sweet treat to school and being on your kindest, goodest behavior all day long! With this flyer is a small pink note card. Please invite your child to write one word to describe our THES teachers - magnificent! caring! encouraging! You get the idea! Please plan to return this to school via purple folder by Monday, May 5. 

Thursday, May 8 – Defying Gravity

Wear GREEN Today

Green is not Mean! Let’s “lift up” our teachers by giving them an extended lunch break today. Please consider signing up to pick up a class (or two!) from their lunch shift and bring the students back to their classroom. A special teacher appreciation activity will be waiting in each room for the parent volunteers to help facilitate. We also encourage you to bring along a book to read to the class in case your students finish their “project” quickly. Check out this Sign Up Genius to pick your classes and view time commitments. *All parent volunteers must first complete the Henrico County Volunteer Form. 

Friday, May 9 – Twin Hickory and I: Together We’re Unlimited 

Wear PURPLE Today

We’ve got spirit - Yes we do! We’ve got spirit - How ‘bout you? Show your teachers just how much you appreciate them by gifting some of their favorite items from their Favorites List - a gift card, flair pens/school supplies, donation to a favorite charity in their honor, classroom items from their Amazon Wish Lists or bringing your own thoughtful ideas and sparkle to their day. And don’t forget to give them high-fives or big hugs!

Hocus Pocus: Let's Help You Focus   Our Teacher Appreciation Committee made classroom deliveries with a coffee cart and spooky treats on a spooky Tuesday!
Teacher Welcome Back Breakfast   With a donation from RISE and the generosity of our THES parents we were able to provide a healthy start to the 2024-2025 school year for our teachers.
