After School Cheer Team

REGISTRATION for TRYOUTS:  REGISTER HERE  (opens 9/3)

Bring your enthusiasm and school spirit to our very first cheer team! Coached by our very own THES First Grade Teacher, Mrs. Seligman, your cheerleader will learn chants, motions, jumps, and dance routines. This team is a great way to develop teamwork and leadership skills in a confidence boosting and encouraging environment. The cheer team will perform throughout the year at various school events such as Blazer Blasts, Fall Festival, etc. 

TRY OUTS: (we can only take 20 students) Cheer team tryouts will be open to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders on 9/10, 9/11, and 9/14. Please plan to attend all three days. The participants will learn a cheer, a band dance, and show any tumbling they have. Deep Run Cheerleaders will help participants learn the cheer and band dance on (9/10 & 9/11). On tryout day (9/14) Cheer team coaches from other schools will help Mrs. Seligman observe their skills and enthusiasm. After tryouts, an email will be sent to everyone who attended that will include who made the team with additional information. If less than 20 sign up, we do not need to hold try outs. 

Team Details:

• This is a year-long commitment where cheer team members must commit to every Thursday practice from 3:00 - 4:00pm (September-May).  
• The first practice is Thursday, September 17th. The last practice is Thursday, May 27th. 
• $130 registration fee (includes t-shirt, pom poms, and other materials)
• Max of 20 students
• Available for 3rd, 4th & 5th graders only
• Bring a water bottle and wear sneakers
• Once we have finalized the team, you will receive a link to register and pay through the PTA website. You will receive an email from our Programs Coordinator, Melissa Parvizi, that includes a change of transportation form to fill out and turn in to their child's teacher before the first team practice date.
